The American Lung Association (ALA) Mid Atlantic faced the prospect of becoming irrelevant in a rapidly changing world. The Association was in need of a considered and cohesive revamp of its public face, and hired GillespieHall to undertake this.
We designed and implemented a strategic communications plan aimed at influencing government policies on the environment and health – especially the responses to lung cancer and other lung diseases. Operating as ALA’s in-house communication department, GH managed every aspect of this wonderful organization’s brand: all media, print and digital collateral, publicity, events and community relationship building.
During a five-year period under the GH advocacy watch, the Mid Atlantic agency consistently delivered the highest public engagement and media reach of all the ALA charters. This period saw the following laws passed in the region: clean indoor air, smoke-free parks, age restrictions on tobacco purchases, taxes on other tobacco products, chewing tobacco and cigars.
“Smart messaging, passionate storytelling and beautiful visuals generated by GillespieHall have consistently brought the American Lung Association’s mission into the hearts and minds of people in the Mid-Atlantic, strengthening our brand, our relevance, and our visibility.”
